Duane’s post this morning was all about the Texas legislators who’ve gone walkabout in an effort to upend voting on redistricting plans.
The entire lot of them were screaming ‚Trump Trump TRUMPITY TRUMP!!!‘ as they boldly stood on the airport tarmac and announced their getaway to the world.
My Democratic colleagues and I just left the state of Texas to break quorum and stop Trump’s redistricting power grab.
Trump is trying to rig the midterm elections right before our eyes. But first he’ll have to come through us.

.Most of the state legislators boarded a 76-seat private jet flown out of a „state-of-the-art“ private terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, a Washington Free Beacon review of flight logs and photos found. That jet left Austin around 5 p.m. on Sunday and landed in Chicago some two hours later, a flight that likely cost tens of thousands of dollars. Upon arriving in the Windy City, the lawmakers held a press conference alongside Illinois governor and billionaire Hyatt hotel heir J.B. Pritzker (D.), who said Texas Republicans are „attempting to cheat“ by redrawing their state’s congressional boundaries to carve out additional districts likely to elect Republicans.
And off they went on their fleabagging protest jaunt to the Land of Pritzker.
Once there, they resumed outrage posing and demanding everything go back the way it was immediately after being met with soothing, welcoming words from the biggest jerrymandering panderer of all as he applauded their heroism.
Dems call the new maps in Texas “undemocratic” while flying private jets with JB Pritzker’s help, to Illinois — one of the most grotesquely gerrymandered states in the nation.
