Alan Ritchson seemingly confirmed he will not be playing Batman in the DCU.
Alan Ritchson is teasing his possible future in the DC universe – but it might not look how fans expected.
The Reacher star addressed the rumors that DC head James Gunn wanted him to play Batman in a new interview with Variety. But the actor clarified that the role may not be in the cards for him.
“Well, it’s not rumor that James Gunn is a fan. He said it himself. And am I a fan of James Gunn? Absolutely,” Ritchson said. “I don’t want to mislead people. Words have been exchanged about Batman.”
He continued, “But I strongly don’t think that Batman is in my future. I do think there is something in my future with DC. And I would like that to remain true.”
Ritchson has an extensive past playing superheroes. He previously appeared in the DC series Titans as Hank Hall and as Aquaman in Smallville.
