One of hockey and Canada’s greats died this week. Six Stanley Cups, Cabinet Minister, University teacher, family man and friend, we will miss you!
Back in 2011 I got an email from Ken Dryden about teaching in his class, „Thinking The Future To Make The Future“ about entrepreneurship & creativity. It was a class for upper level undergraduate students he wanted to help prepare to be leaders in our country in the many years to come.
Typical Ken, a big view of Canada and its place in the world. In turn, I invited him to the MBA course on Leadership I was teaching. The idea of the course was to expose them to the personal histories of extraordinary leaders in more than a dozen fields, students will learn first-hand how different styles of management adapt to and contribute to evolving careers. They were impressed.
This led to regular lunches and coffees. The picture below I took of Ken at Cafe Castel, where we dined I remember when we sit there fellow McGillians would stop and stare when they saw Ken. I remember well the way he treated me and indeed everyone I saw interact with, including students, at McGill with very considerable respect for them and their strengths and achievements.
