Apple is adding a silicone ring around in-store MagSafe chargers to stop them from scratching the aluminum backs of iPhone 17 display units, Consomac reports.
Apple blamed the iPhone 17 „scratchgate“ on worn-out MagSafe stands at its retail stores, and said the marks weren’t scratches but residue from wear and tear on the stands. At the time, it advised users to wipe the backs of their phones to avoid seeing the scratches and also promised to fix the issue at its end.
