Breaking down all of the notable injuries from Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season, including Emeka Egbuka, Puka Nacua and Garrett Wilson.
Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season was not kind to star receivers. Puka Nacua (ankle), Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) and Garrett Wilson (knee) all picked up injuries that could sideline them for at least the next week or two, which could force fantasy football managers to scramble for replacements on the waiver wire.
They weren’t the only ones who went down with injuries, though. The nightmare season continued for Calvin Ridley (hamstring), while Marvin Harrison Jr. (concussion) could join quarterback Kyler Murray on the sideline in Week 7. DJ Moore (groin) wound up spending Monday night in a Washington, D.C.-area hospital, although head coach Ben Johnson dubbed him „day-to-day“ on Tuesday.
While receivers were the hardest-hit position in Week 6, a few backup running backs, one backup quarterback and one notable tight end also picked up injuries that could limit their availability moving forward.
Here’s what fantasy managers need to know from an injury standpoint heading into Week 7.Notable Injuries
Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams WR (ankle)
Nacua’s dominant season temporarily ground to a halt Sunday, as he suffered an ankle sprain that limited him to a season-low two catches for 28 yards against the Baltimore Ravens.
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters Monday that the team planned to be „day-to-day“ with Nacua, who „felt pretty good today.“ He added that „there’s nothing on the scan that looks like it’s going to be long-term“, but „the uncertainty of this week is a real thing.“
The Rams are heading to London to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7 and have a bye in Week 8. They might err on the side of caution and keep Nacua sidelined to give him to two full weeks to recover, so Nacua managers should start making contingency plans in case he’s unavailable Sunday.
Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR (hamstring)
Egbuka burst onto the fantasy football scene with 25 catches for 445 yards and five touchdowns over the first five weeks of his NFL career. However, his fantasy managers should prepare for life without him for a bit, as he suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers‘ win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Fellow Buccaneers WR Mike Evans, who’s been sidelined with his own hamstring injury since Week 3, could return to practice this week. However, head coach Todd Bowles said both WR Chris Godwin and RB Bucky Irving are „not in play“ to return Monday against the Detroit Lions. If Evans can’t return either, Baker Mayfield’s receiving corps will be WRs Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson and Kameron Johnson along with TE Cade Otton.
Garrett Wilson, New York Jets WR (knee)
After finishing with minus-10 net passing yards in Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos, the New York Jets‘ aerial attack is about to go from bad to worse. Wilson hyperextended his knee late in the game and is „expected to miss a couple of weeks“, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, although he „avoided a serious knee injury.
