Goa: 25 killed in midnight fire at club in Arpora

Most of those who died were kitchen workers at the club, while three to four victims were tourists, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
Twenty-five persons were killed and six were injured in North Goa’s Arpora village late on Saturday night when a fire broke out at a club.
The fire erupted around midnight at a club named Birch By Romeo Lane, located near Baga beach, one of the most popular tourist spots in the state, The Indian Express quoted the police as saying.
A cylinder blast was believed to be the cause of the fire. Several fire vehicles were rushed to the site, and rescue efforts were underway till Sunday morning.
