The fate of failed businessman Massachusetts Brian Walshe — accused of killing his wife, Ana Walshe, on New Year’s Day in 2023 — now rests with jurors/was decided by jurors Friday, December 12.
Closing arguments were offered on Friday in Walshe’s first-degree murder trial. Walshe, 50, is being tried for the 2023 murder and dismemberment of his 39-year-old wife. Walshe allegedly left her body parts in a dumpster. Her remains have never been recovered.
While he pleaded guilty to misleading police and unlawfully conveying a body long ago, Walshe — who has maintained his innocence since his arrest — pleaded not guilty to his wife’s grizzly murder.
The gallery in the Dedham courtroom where the trial has been held was filled with Ana’s friends and family on Friday, according to MassLive.com.
In his closing argument, Walshe’s defense lawyer Larry Tipton insisted his client loved his wife and posited something “sudden” and “unbelievable” happened to Ana, claiming she died of natural causes.
