In February, the Galaxy Tab S4 had made an appearance on the GFXBench benchmark database with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC under the hood. Earlier this month, the upcoming tablet had received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. It has now been granted certification from EEC, the Russian telecommunications commission. Along with the Galaxy Tab S4 (SM-T835), the EEC has certified another upcoming tablet from Samsung with the model number SM-T595. Going by the model number, it is possible that the SM-T585 could be the Galaxy Tab A (2018).
The Galaxy Tab S3 was launched in India at Rs.47,990 in June last year. We expect the Galaxy Tab S4 to be priced around the same mark when it launches in India later this year. While no specific release timeframe has been confirmed yet, there is a chance that Samsung might announce the tablet soon. However, Samsung usually announces its flagship tablets at big events. The next big event this year will be IFA 2018, which will kick off on August 31.
As per previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is expected to feature a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1600 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. Powering the tablet will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM. The tablet will also include a 12MP camera at the back and an 8MP snapper on the front. Keeping the lights on is likely to be a 6000mAh battery. In terms of storage, the tablet is expected to pack 64GB of internal storage. On the software front, the Galaxy Tab S4 could launch with the Android 8.0 or Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with Samsung’s custom skin running on top. Similar to the Galaxy Tab S3, we expect Samsung to launch the Galaxy Tab S4 in Wi-Fi only and LTE variants.
