Usiskin has received awards such as Prix d’Instrument at the Écoles d’art Americaines (France), performed with artists such as Emanuel Ax, and has even founded programs such as the Montgomery Music Project which gave lessons to low-income students. She currently teaches at University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham-Southern College and STEP Birmingham.
