Vivo is set to launch the mid-range V11 smartphone in India tomorrow. Ahead of the smartphone’s launch event in the country, Vivo launched the V11 and V11i smartphones in Thailand today. Both the Vivo V11 and V11i feature a ‘waterdrop’ notch and come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Vivo has priced the V11i in Thailand at THB 9,999, which translates to approximately Rs.21,800 based on the current exchange rate. On the other hand, the V11 is priced at THB 13,999 or Rs.30,600. Both the models are now available for pre-order in Thailand and will be going on sale starting September 16 th. Color options for the V11 include Starry Night and Nebula. In the Indian market, the Vivo V11 is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs.25,000. However, it is not clear if Vivo will be launching the V11i model in India. Rumors suggest the V11 is expected to launch as the V11 Pro here.

The Vivo V11 sports a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED Halo FullView display with a ‘waterdrop’ notch similar to the OPPO F9 and F9 Pro smartphones. It features 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution, 91.27% screen-to-body ratio, and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Powering the V11 is an octa-core 14nm Snapdragon 660 chipset from Qualcomm clocked at 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 512 GPU. In the memory department, Vivo V11 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For further expansion, the smartphone has a dedicated microSD card slot.
In the camera department, Vivo V11 is equipped with a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup at the rear with the primary sensor coupled with an f/1.8 aperture and the secondary sensor coupled with an f/2.4 aperture. The setup is similar to the Vivo NEX and X21 smartphones, although the V11 does not come with optical image stabilization. It does, however, feature AI scene recognition and Dual PDAF. At the front is a 25MP selfie camera with Vivo’s AI-powered beautification feature. The V11 comes with Funmoji as well, Vivo’s take on Apple’s Animoji feature.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and Dual 4G VoLTE. The fingerprint sensor, as we mentioned above, is embedded under the display panel. For audiophiles, the V11 comes with a CS43199 + SSM6322 amplifier. Fueling the mid-range smartphone is a 3400mAh capacity battery with Dual-Engine 18W fast charging support. The smartphone measures 157.9 x 75 x 7.9mm and weighs in at 156 grams. In terms of software, the V11 runs Funtouch OS 4.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

The more affordable Vivo V11i features the exact same Halo FullView display as the Vivo V11 but runs on a slightly less impressive MediaTek Helio P60 12nm octa-core processor instead. MediaTek’s Helio P60 features four ARM Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz with an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. Vivo has paired the octa-core Helio P60 chip on the V11i with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the Vivo V11i features a 16MP + 5MP dual-camera setup at the rear, while the selfie camera is identical to the V11. Another key difference is the battery size. Instead of a 3400mAh unit, the V11i packs a 3315mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The V11i measures 155.97 x 75.63 x 8.1mm and weighs 163 grams.
