Bandai Namco confirm that One Piece World Seeker will now be released in 2019.
Based on the globally popular manga, One Piece World Seeker follows Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew on a typically uneventful adventure to the mysterious Jail Island.
The game is being developed by Fukuoka-based studio, Ganbarion, and also includes Toei Animation’s Hiroki Koyama and Shueisha’s Suguru Sugita on its creative team. It’s fair to say that fan expectations are pretty high as a result.
In a press statement explaining the delay, Bandai Namco’s Koji Nakajima said:
“ One Piece World Seeker is the most ambitious One Piece game ever. We’re aware of the huge potential for the game and want to ensure we match fans’ expectations. As such, we took the difficult decision to move the release date and use additional development time to create the best game possible”.
Despite the delay, the good news is that One Piece World Seeker is shaping up rather nicely. We went hands-on with the PlayStation 4 build at a recent Bandai Namco event, and came away impressed with the game’s joyful combat, and overall polish. The game’s character animations, and soundtrack – by Kohei Tanaka – are particularly noteworthy.
One Piece World Seeker will now be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC as part of 2019’s One-Piece Big Projects 20th anniversary celebration.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider unlocks in a couple of days, but what are the minimum and recommended PC system requirements?
Reviews have started dropping for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the Apocalypse Now -inspired, third and final part of the modern Tomb Raider reboot. They are somewhat mixed. Wouldn’t it be a boring world if we all agreed, though?
The key criticisms have been levelled towards the instafail stealth sections, some rather ropey performances, and some very strange attempts to address the game’s colonialist, white saviour aspects. That being said, the tombs and exploration – including options to vary the game’s difficulty; not just in the combat, but also in the puzzles – are vintage Lara.
There’s also a vintage Lara costume, for some reason, but quite why you’d want to use that in a game this pretty is beyond us. The question is, what rig are you going to need to get the best out of it?
It’s nice to see Rise of the Tomb Raider playable on some relatively old hardware, but it’s also worth pointing out that if you want to target 1440p or true 4K output, you’re going to need something beefier than a GTX 1060, or be prepared to compromise on frame rate or detail levels. Or an Xbox One X, apparently, which makes Microsoft’s more powerful console seem very impressive indeed. Just saying.

Moonlighter, the adorable shopkeeping RPG, is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
A strange thing happened, when the Nintendo Switch launched. For a time, people were concerned there wouldn’t be enough games available. Then the indies arrived. Shovel Knight, Shantae, Overcooked, Severed, and the trio from Tomorrow Corporation; World of Goo, Human Resource Machine, and Little Inferno. All of a sudden the Switch was the system of choice, and indie developers were scrambling to get in on it.
The Switch has been a particular hit with RPG developers, with everything from the big budget indies of the Square Enix Collective ( Octopath Traveller, I am Setsuna) to the scrappy underdogs ( Golf Story, Undertale, Minit) have found an ideal home.
We lose hours to them, on our commute, on our lunch break, on the toilet. So it’s no surprise, then, to see Moonlighter – the indie RPG about multitasking productivity, combining shopkeeping with adventuring – coming to the Nintendo Switch.
