According to Matthew Dowd, an „objective“ political analyst with ABC, both Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Justice Clarence Thomas are sexual predators based on unsubstantiated allegations whose credibility is called into question upon close scrutiny.
Sounding off on Twitter, Dowd said that because the Senate failed to block Clarence Thomas in the early 90’s after being accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill, the Senate should now do the right thing and block Kavanaugh.
„It was despicable and outrageous what happened to Anita Hill more than 25 years ago, and a sexual predator was given a lifetime seat on the SC,“ Dowd wrote. „Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself in 2018.“
Anita Hill accused Clarence Thomas of sexually harassing her while under his employment in the 1980’s. Her credibility was severely called into question when evidence showed she followed Thomas from job to job and called him on multiple occasions. No other woman has come forward to accuse Clarence Thomas since then.
Also on Monday, Dowd acknowledged that the current accusations against Kavanaugh, in which he is alleged to have sexually assaulted a girl at a pool party 35 years ago, is a „he said, she said“ situation but conceded that the „she“ in that scenario should tip the scale. Witness social justice logic at work: „Enough with the ‘he said, she said’ storyline. If this is he said, she said, then let’s believe the she in these scenarios. She has nothing to gain, and everything to lose. For 250 years we have believed the he in these scenarios. Enough is enough.“
