Huawei few days ago made fun of the new Apple iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max by tweeting and thanking the firm for keeping things the ‘Same’. But the Chinese tech firm is not yet done. The company reportedly distributed free power banks to those queuing up in front of Apple Stores to buy the new handsets. The company’s underlying message behind distributing the accessory was to imply that the new iPhone models don’t come with enough battery life and that Huawei’s own smartphones (or the upcoming Mate 20 phablet) come with a better battery performance.
The incident took place in front of an Apple Orchard Road store in Singapore where the power banks were distributed. The Chinese smartphone maker’s power bank box stated ‘Here’s a power bank. You’ll need it. Courtesy of Huawei.’ The marketing strategy also had executives wearing Huawei T-shirts handing out the smartphone accessory.
It is worth adding that this is Huawei’s second attempt at making fun of Apple, the first time it tweeted saying, “Thank you for keeping things the same. See you in London. 16.10.18 #HigherIntelligence #HUAWEIMate20″. The firm is also getting ready to launch its flagship phablet of the year, Mate 20. The tweet also has a small video that begins with the word ‘Same’ followed by some other texts such as ‘Beyond Consistency’, ‘Beyond Intelligence’ and more, taking a jab at Apple.
Xiaomi too had its moment by introducing new bundles using the XS, XS Max and XR moniker, that includes multiple Xiaomi devices that one can buy in the same price as that of each of the new iPhones (iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR).
The iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max have gone on pre-orders in India starting today. The iPhone XS Max 64GB is priced at Rs 1,09,900 while the 256GB variant costs Rs 1,24,900 and the price of the 512GB is Rs 1,44,900. On the other hand, the smaller iPhone XS 64GB variant costs Rs 99,900 while the 256GB and 512GB storage variants costs Rs 1,14,900 and Rs 1,34,900 respectively.
