With the vast number of romance options available in Ubisoft’s action RPG Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, here’s where to find and unlock every NPC romance.
When it was first revealed that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey would be doubling down on the RPG elements first introduced in Origins, many were likely excited. The prospect of this feature was likely most exciting when it was revealed that Ubisoft’s action RPG would contain romance options.
Now that the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is available to play, gamers are likely experiencing these romance options for the first time. However, those expecting serious depth such as what is experienced in BioWare games could be disappointed, as there are no major romance quest lines that define the story. For the most part, these romances have no serious impact on the game such as one romance with an old woman whose husband cannot match her vigor, whereas others include goats and group sex.
For those embracing this “when in Greece” style of romance, it’s certainly an interesting addition to the game. The best general advice that can be given when pursuing a romance is to flirt as much as possible, and it’s worth mentioning that no character is locked due to gender.
First, shortly after arriving at the Perikles Residence, players will need to find Aristophanes and agree to find his missing actress. Once she is found, flirt with her, but players will need to find and kill the cultist Rhexenor first. Afterward, players will find themselves in Aikaterine’s arms.
Requirements: Must be flirted with in Oil and Love for romance to proceed in the related quests.
Alkibiades is first met during a half-naked group party (goat optional) in the Perikles residence in Greater Athens. Flirt here where a small romance begins that can be continued later in the Handle with Care and Rock Hard quests.
In this quest, flirt with Auxesia when accepting it. Complete the quest which requires players to find a bear scrotum and deer tongue, then choose the dialogue option that spares the husband. This will result in the player spending the night with Auxesia.
Related Quests: The Goddesses’ Hunt, The Daughters of Artemis
Requirements: Complete all missions to resolve the romance
This romantic questline may be the longest of the game, as players can pick it up around level 13 but not finish until around level 45. When players first meet Daphnae, she will ask them to hunt down the Kalydonian Boar, and once that is completed, several hunt quests appear. Completing each will give players a chance to flirt with Daphnae, and when this happens, seize it. This will eventually lead to a small romance scene.
This long questline will also end in a reward worthy of Artemis. However, the romance ends in an unfortunate way, regardless of choice.
Related Quests: All Bonds Will Break, Atoll Order, Pick Your Poison, The Handmaiden’s Story, and I, Diona. In a Rush and By the Fates will begin after these.
In the Shrine of Fates location on Kythera, players will meet the twin sisters Diona and Eritha. After completing the necessary quests, players will meet Diona at her villa for a saucy romance scene. Players will want to complete this questline in order to take out all the cultists.
Players will received the Family Values quest from a caged boy that requires players to meet the blacksmith Kosta. Flirt with and agree to gather flowers for Kosta. Afterward, the player will spend the night with Kosta.
Related Quests: Kyra with a Cause, Trouble in Paradise, Bleeding Hearts and Stolen Money, Goddess of the Hunt, The Thaletas Way
Requirements: Side with Kyra in Trouble in Paradise (or complete the Thaletas Way)
This is an interesting series of quests, with the first “Trouble in Paradise” given to the character by Barnabas. In this quest, players will choose between Kyra and Thaletas, and it is important to note siding with Kyra locks out the ability to romance Thaletas. Choosing Thaletas and completing the Thaletas Way quest will keep both open as potential romance partners.
Afterward, simply complete the aforementioned quests, and Goddess of the Hunt will result in the conclusion of the romance.
Related Quests: Helping a Healer, Sins of the Past, The Unkindest Cut
Although this is a sidequest, there is emotional depth here for the PC, making it worth pursuing for that very reason. First, players will meet Lykaon in the Chora of Delphi and complete a fetch quest for him. Then, players will need to complete the next two quests, which results in a choice of what to do with Lykaon’s grandmother. The proper choice here results in a short, but sweet scene.
Related Quests: Tough Love, Doctor’s Pet, School of Hard Knocks, Indulging Just a Little, Retribution
Requirements: In the first aforementioned quest, choose “try a gentle approach.”
If the requirement is not met, Mikkos could die before the questline is completed. Then, in Indulging Just a Little, players need to be sure not to miss Mikkos. This quest can result in a one-one, three- or four-person romance scene. After completing Retribution, players can flirt with Mikkos one final time. This quest line also unlocks the unique Barnabas’s Dagger.
First met as a prisoner in Odysseus’s Palace, escorting Odessa is the first quest players must complete and the first chance at flirting. Completing the next two quests from her family farm in Megaris will reward players with a solid romance scene.
Requirements: Must flirt with her in Foot Race
In the Thermal Springs area of Hydrea, players will meet Roxana where she is training. Flirting and Completing with her quests results in a sweet moment where the player can also join her in her fight, but it’s worth mentioning that is no romance scenes afterward.
Related Quests: Trouble in Paradise, The Thaletas Way, Paint the Sand Red, Hearts of War
Requirements: Side with Thaletas in Trouble in Paradise
Related Quests: A Pirate’s Life for Me, Priceless Treasure, Ashes to Ashes, Lost and Found
Xenia is met through the story, and meeting unlocks the first aforementioned quest.
