OnePlus launched its latest flagship smartphone in India this past Tuesday, just a day after its global debut in New York City. The smartphone is now on sale in India via Amazon.in and the OnePlus store online. You can also purchase the OnePlus 6T from select Croma and Reliance Digital Stores starting today. As part of the Great Indian Festival Sale, Amazon.in is currently offering various discount offers on the smartphone, allowing select customers to buy a new OnePlus 6T for an effective price of just INR 31,754.
1) The INR 31,754 is the final effective price of the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the OnePlus 6T with all the current promotions applied on Amazon.in. If you are interested in getting the 8GB RAM + 128GB version, the effective price will obviously be higher.
2) First, you will need to head over to Amazon.in and add the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the OnePlus 6T to your cart. If you have an HDFC Bank credit or debit card, you can avail an instant discount of 10% up to a maximum of INR 1,500. This means the effective price of the OnePlus 6T comes down to INR 36,499.
3) Customers holding the HDFC Regalia credit card can get 10X RP savings via the SmartBuy platform, adding up to INR 4,745. With the SmartBuy savings applied, you will end up paying an effective price of just INR 31,754 for the 6GB RAM version of the OnePlus 6T. If you currently own the OnePlus 6, it does not make much sense to upgrade to the OnePlus 6T. In some areas, the OnePlus 6T is no doubt a decent upgrade over the OnePlus 6 ( review). However, in most areas, the two smartphones are nearly identical. The most significant difference between the two is the bigger 6.4-inch Optic AMOLED display on the OnePlus 6T, which comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. You also get a much smaller notch at the top, which allows the 6T to offer an improved screen-to-body ratio. Power users are likely to appreciate the bigger 3700mAh capacity battery that the OnePlus 6T packs. Aside from these differences, the OnePlus 6T does not offer anything new when compared to its predecessor.
It is also worth noting that the latest OnePlus flagship smartphone does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Fortunately, however, OnePlus does bundle a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box. This is likely not going to be an issue for users who have switched to wireless headsets. However, if you use wired headphones, you may not appreciate the omission of the 3.5mm headphone jack.
If you are still using an older OnePlus flagship such as the OnePlus 5 or 5T, it certainly makes sense to get the OnePlus 6T. While it has been priced slightly higher than the OnePlus 6 in India, the 6T is still a lot more affordable than most other Android flagship smartphones out there.
