Take-Two announced in its Q2 report for its current fiscal year that Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped over 17 million units.

Remember, shipped means sold to retail – not to the customer. Still, that’s a massive number,on top of the $725 million in sales reported for the game’s opening weekend.
Red Dead Redemption 2 shipped more units in its first eight days than the original Red Dead Redemption sold in its first eight years.
GTA 5 also continued to move units during the quarter, and sales stand at over 100 million. That’s up from 95 million reported in May.
NBA 2K19 was one of the biggest winners contributes for the quarter showing 10% growth year-over-year (yoy) thanks in part to recurrent spending. The majority of sales for the sports title were digital.
The company has a whole reported $493 million in revenue for the quarter ending September 30, which is up 11% year-over-year (yoy).
Digital revenue came in at $358 million, up 18% yoy from $303 million. The sector made up 73% of the company’s total net revenue.
Net Bookings grew 1% to $583 million, up from $577 million yoy. Net Bookings from recurrent consumer spending grew 28% and accounted for 53% of total Net Bookings.
The largest contributors to Net Bookings in Q2 FY19 were: NBA 2K19 and NBA 2K18, GTA Online and GTA 5, Dragon City and Monster Legends, WWE SuperCard, and NBA 2K Online 2 (China).
Catalog sales accounted for $288 million of Net Bookings led by Grand Theft Auto, Dragon City and Monster Legends, and NBA 2K.
Digitally-delivered Net Bookings grew 20% to $426 million, compared to $356 million yoy and accounted for 73% of total Net Bookings.
Net bookings, again, cover products and services sold digitally or sold-in physically during the period. In other words, DLC and digital offerings outside the base game sale.
