The games are homage of sorts, or a spiritual remake if you will, of Pokemon Yellow. Players are given Pikachu or Eevee as their starter, and it also incorporates aspects of the wildly popular mobile game, Pokemon Go.
Players will find both Eevee and Pikachu can use exclusive moves unavailable to other Pokemon. These are Partner Powers which are used when a sign appears during battle. The power of these moves will increase depending on how strong the player’s bond is with their partner.
Both Pokemon will also aid their Trainer when confronted with obstacles. One of these secret techniques is called Sea Skim, and it glides the Pokemon and its Trainer across water.
Ways to befriend Pokemon, and various costumes are also part of gameplay.
Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee can also transfer creatures captured in Pokemon Go. Upon transfer, players can use these Pokemon on their adventures through the Kanto region. Pokemon transferred from Pokemon Go will appear in a place called the Go Park Complex, located in Fuchsia City, made up of 20 individual Go Parks. Players can keep up to 50 Pokemon in each one.
It was announced recently players could face off against the Elite Four who are dedicated to training particular species of Pokemon. That should prove to be fun.
