It Seems Modders Are to Blame For Bethesda Using the Same Engine Since Morrowind

Bethesda is working on The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfied but using the same Creations Enigne from Fallout 76. Expect major bugs and issues.
The Creation Engine came to limelight when The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim came out but its foundations have been there for a long time. The base engine came into existence with the release of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.
It is one of the most popular games but just like every Bethesda game, it wasn’t perfect. Bethesda games usually have a lot of bugs and missing features. Be it The Elder Scrolls or Fallout, each installment is usually worse than the last. While most bugs and features are fixed by Bethesda after launch, many are left on modders to fix and deal with.
Speaking in a recent interview, Bethesda’s Todd Howard stated that modders know their engine well and help fix the game. This is one of the reasons why Bethesda can risk releasing a buggy game, especially on PC.
It is a fact that Fallout 76 released with embarrassing bugs. By today’s standards, it is considered a joke. However, Bethesda refuses to change its engine and modders are partly to blame for it. Every time Bethesda is in trouble modders helps the studio. Todd Howard is counting on modders once again to fix the game, not only Fallout 76 but Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6.
Bethesda keeps improving its engine with the new game release but it isn’t working as well as the company may have hoped. Fans had concerns for Bethesda using the same engine for Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 and rightfully so.
It is about time Bethesda does something to change their tools of development. And it is also time modders stop bailing out Bethesda.
Starfield will be using the same engine means traditional Bethesda issues should be expected. Same goes for The Elder Scrolls 6.
Imagine playing Bethesda’s The Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 in the next 5 years and the game struggles to hit 30FPS, has clunky animations, and crashes every now and than. The community won’t be forgiving about these issues if these practices continue any longer.
The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield are expected to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Scarlett, and PC sometime in the next three years. Bethesda has plenty of time to make drastic changes to the Creation Engine or get a completely new set of tools.
Hopefully, Bethesda will make the right call.
