Dec. 11 (UPI) — Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump ’s onetime personal attorney, is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday after reaching a plea agreement with federal prosecutors in New York.
Federal Judge William Pauley III has scheduled a sentencing hearing for 11 a.m. in Manhattan.
Cohen pleaded guilty Nov. 29 of charges of lying to Congress by special prosecutor Robert Mueller, whose office is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 U. S. election and potential collusion with members of the Trump campaign.
Cohen pleaded guilty in August on eight counts — five for tax evasion and one count each of excessive campaign contribution, unlawful corporate contribution and making false statements to a bank.
