Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched in India with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box and as the company had promised the phone got updated to Android 8.1 Oreo-based on MIUI 10 almost six months later.
Work is in progress and the day is nearing. Xiaomi is working on updating the Redmi Note 5 Pro to Android 9 Pie. The Note 5 Pro running on Pie has been spotted on Geekbench which makes us believe that smartphone will soon get Android 9 Pie’s sweetness sooner than one can think. Xiaomi has recently launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro successor, the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India and has promised to upgrade the phone to Pie very soon. The Note 6 Pro currently runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based on MIUI 10 UI.
