Horrifying video has emerged of the moment a crane collapsed at a Seattle construction site, killing four people, including a college student who was in a car that was crushed in the accident.
The footage, posted on YouTube by Natalie Williams, shows the crane falling over and crashing onto the top of a building before breaking apart and smashing onto several vehicles.
In addition to Sarah Wong, a Seattle Pacific University freshman, two ironworkers in the crane’s cab and another motorist were killed.
The King County Medical Examiner’s office has said it would release the names of the victims, including three males, who died Saturday afternoon at the site of Google’s new Seattle campus on Mercer Street.
Wong was a freshman who planned to major in nursing and lived on campus, the university said in a statement.
“While we grieve the sudden and tragic loss of our precious student, we draw comfort from each other,” Seattle Pacific’s statement said.
