COLUMBUS – About 2.75 million entered, but only two won Ohio’s first Vax-a-Million drawing. Abbigail (Abbey) Bugenske,22, of Silverton, won the $1 million prize and Joseph Costello,14, of Englewood, won a full-ride college scholarship. Bugenske, a recent Michigan State University graduate, had forgotten that the lottery winner was going to be announced that night. Now an engineer at GE Aviation, she was driving from Silverton to her parents‘ home in Shaker Heights when she got a call from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine. When she reached her parents‘ house, Bugenske had quite the response. „I was screaming enough that my parents thought that I was crying and they thought that something was wrong,“ Bugenske said. “I still can’t believe it. It was a crazy night.” Bugenske hasn’t decided how to spend her winnings yet beyond donating some to charities and investing it.
