There are tons of different Zombie Parts players will need to collect to craft the best Weapon Mods in Dead Island 2, and here’s how to get them all.
A mechanic of Dead Island 2 that not many players are talking about has to be the whole ‚Zombie Parts‘ system the game introduces shortly after players reach Venice Beach. These different parts, pulled from all sorts of different regular and Apex Zombies, are used in creating Autophage Skills and Perks for weapons.
These Skills and Perks are some of the strongest options in Dead Island 2 and have some incredibly unique effects. There are Autophage Skills that cause explosions on Critical Hits, ones that create clouds of Caustic-X mist when a zombie is killed, and much more. But, crafting these Autophage Perks/Skills requires a lot of Parts from all sorts of different zombies, and Blueprints need even more specific Parts, so let’s go over where exactly players can find each Part and the best methods for farming them.
Updated October 8th, 2023 by Jacob Buchalter: Dead Island 2 is a massive game, but most players are easily in the post-game content by now or have long since moved past it. However, since this Zompocalypse survival game has two big DLCs coming in late 2023 and early 2024, a lot of players are starting to pay attention to Dead Island 2 again. So, for those who are just starting out, or for those who are coming back to their playthroughs after a long break, let’s go over exactly where each Zombie Part can be found. And for those who need a bit of a refresher, Zombie Parts are basically crafting materials in Dead Island 2, only instead of using wood and cobblestone to build a pickaxe in something like Minecraft, players are slapping Blast Glants onto baseball bats in Dead Island 2 for some explosive results. All Zombie Parts & How To Obtain Each One
The way that the drop percentages for different Zombie Parts in Dead Island 2 is still a bit of a mystery, who knows maybe either of the upcoming DLCs will change that. However, the general consensus is that zombies have a chance to drop any of their parts when killed, but for some of these parts, the chance is almost guaranteed if the player destroys a certain body part first or kills them in a specific way.
So, let’s go over each of the parts one by one before the first Dead Island 2 DLC comes out and adds more parts. The table below also covers which zombies drop each part and the best methods for obtaining them (if any such methods exist):
