Google Photos ditches „Things“ carousel as it prepares for „Ask Photos“ feature
Google has recently made a subtle yet noticeable change to its Google Photos app for Android and iOS users. The „Things“ carousel, a familiar feature in the Search tab, has been removed. This change comes as Google prepares to introduce „Ask Photos“ this summer, a new feature showcased at I/O 2024.
Previously, the Search tab in Google Photos hosted four carousels, namely People & pets, Places, Documents, and Things. The „Things“ carousel served as a handy way to group and explore photos based on various categories like Selfies, Skylines, Concerts, and many more.
