Caitlin Clark has received her first big WNBA rookie award, and she secured it before Angel Reese.
Caitlin Clark left the NCAA as the highest scorer in the history of basketball, and she has continued to showcase her elite skillset at the professional level. Clark is currently in second place in the WNBA with 27 three-pointers made and in fourth for 6.4 assists per game.
She continues to dominate, even as a rookie, and has picked up her first big award at the WNBA level.
The WNBA announced that Clark is the Rookie of the Month for May after she secured 17.6 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, and 6.6 assists per game. What might make this award that much sweeter for the dynamic star, is she secured this award before her rival, Angel Reese.
Clark and Reese have made headlines since they took one another on in the NCAA Tournament final in 2022. The LSU Tigers would take down the Iowa Hawkeyes to win the national title, but it wouldn’t be the last time they would meet.
