For the first time ever, part of KCON—the world’s largest K-pop and Korean culture festival—will be broadcast live on primetime national TV in the United States. KCON’s main concert (a.k.a. “M Countdown”) on Sunday, July 28th will be aired live on The CW Network starting at 8pm ET. (Note that the program will be delayed on the West Coast and will begin airing at 8pm PT there.)
This marks the first time that a K-pop festival will be shown live on primetime national television in the U.S., proving that K-pop continues to grow in popularity in America and around the world.
Sunday’s M Countdown will feature performances by K-pop stars like NCT 127, ZEROBASEONE, STAYC, Zico and more. For the full lineup, see below.
„We are beyond excited to partner with The CW to bring the electrifying M Countdown at KCON LA 2024 live to national primetime television“, CJ ENM’s Head of Music Entertainment Harry H.K. Shin said in a release. „This historic broadcast is a testament to the incredible community of K-pop fans who have made these groups global sensations.“
This year’s KCON LA looks to be its biggest one yet, with more performances and programming planned throughout the day and some top K-drama stars also expected to join the festival alongside some of today’s hottest K-pop acts.
