Former Republican Governor of Maryland Larry Hogan criticizes Donald Trump’s comments about Kamala Harris‘ racial identity on X.
Former Republican Governor of Maryland Larry Hogan called out Donald Trump’s comments about Kamala Harris‘ racial identity at a convention for Black journalists in Chicago Wednesday night.
In a now-viral heated debate at the National Association of Black Journalists convention, Trump questioned Harris‘ racial identity, claiming she has not embraced her African-American heritage previously and recently „turned black.“
Hogan denounced Trump’s claims on X, formerly Twitter, stating that it is „unacceptable and abhorrent to attack Vice President Harris or anyone’s racial identity“, and continued to say that the „American people deserve better.“
When asked about how some Republicans have claimed Harris is a „DEI hire“, Trump said, „I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now, she wants to be known as Black.
