Two new versions of the headphones are reportedly on the way.
Apple is reportedly planning on launching two different versions of the fourth generation of its AidPods this fall. One model is expected to offer basic functionality but be affordably priced. A more expensive model will offer active noise cancellation and is rumored to replace the current third-generation model in the lineup, according to Bloomberg.
Part of the decision to replace the AirPods 3 in the lineup has to do with its charging case. The AirPods 3 use a Lightening cable for charging, while Apple’s lineup is transitioning to USB-C.
