Atlus‘ newest JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio is off to a very strong start on the Steam platform, achieving a new milestone on the PC gaming platform.
Metaphor: ReFantazio already has an incredible start on the Steam platform, breaking through the Persona franchise’s concurrent player record. Metaphor: ReFantazio is the latest JRPG from Studio Zero, a subsidiary of Atlus, helmed by the creative minds who developed Persona 3, 4, and 5. While the game is a new IP from Atlus, it’s already looking to be one of the publisher’s most successful titles to date.
Like the Persona series, Metaphor: ReFantazio is a JPRG that focuses on building social relationships, managing their time, and fast-paced turn-based combat. Unlike Persona, which is an urban-fantasy game, Metaphor: ReFantazio takes place in a high-fantasy setting, which had many fans invested in the game almost immediately. The game was also known as Project Re: Fantasy for a long time, so fans were glad to see Metaphor: ReFantazio materialize in 2023 after its initial reveal all the way back in 2017.
