The Joe Biden administration on Tuesday opted to stay silent in response to Beijing’s decision to ban the export of dual-use materials like gallium, germanium and graphite vital to the production of advanced technologies for military and civilian applications.
The US Commerce Department declined to comment on what has been regarded as Beijing’s retaliatory response amid an increasingly tense stand-off on tech matters ahead of president-elect Donald Trump taking office in January.
