Final Fantasy 14 pulls back the curtain on the Job balance adjustments coming in Patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow.
During server maintenance on August 4, Final Fantasy 14 revealed the various Job changes coming in Patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow. The Final Fantasy 14 update saw major changes to the Reaper’s Enshroud ability, which can now be used more consistently during burst windows, while the Viper and the Pictomancer were slightly nerfed.
Final Fantasy 14’s 7.3 update goes live on August 5 once server maintenance concludes at 6:00 AM Eastern that same morning. Dubbed The Promise of Tomorrow, Patch 7.3 will be the climax of Dawntrail’s main story arc, as the Warrior of Light and their allies deal with ongoing threats to Solution Nine. Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.3 will be followed up with two smaller updates in the fall, as Patch 7.31 will bring updates to Cosmic Exploration and the Phantom Relic Weapons. Following that, Patch 7.35 will add the Pilgrim’s Traverse Deep Dungeon, along with the Yok Huy Allied Society quests and more Hildibrand misadventures.
Days after the preliminary notes for Patch 7.3 were posted, Final Fantasy 14 followed up with a look at the Job balance changes that players will notice upon logging in. According to the Lodestone, all Healer jobs saw range increases to their area-of-effect (AoE) healing spells, including the White Mage’s Medica and the Sage’s Eukrasian Prognosis. The Bard and the Machinist also saw slight increases to their core rotation, with the Machinist’s buffs to abilities like Double Check, Drill, and Chain Saw adding up throughout a battle. The Reaper’s Enshroud saw a significant adjustment, as its cooldown was reduced from 15 seconds to just five seconds, which will allow it to execute Enshroud twice during burst damage phases. The Ninja also saw some potency buffs to cooldowns like Dokumori and Kunai’s Bane, while other Jobs like Samurai, Dragoon, and Monk had their AoE falloff damage slightly increased.
