A Chino Hills, California resident took matters in to his own hands to defend his family and home when five males allegedly tried to break into his residence around 1.00pm Pacific on Monday.
Yan Zhang managed to take a first-person perspective photo looking down the barrel of his firearm while he held three of the alleged burglars at gunpoint on his balcony until police arrived.
Two of the suspects got away from Zhang but were later found with the help of neighbors, according to KTLA .
Four of the men were between the ages of 18 and 20 and one was a 17-year-old juvenile, San Bernardino sheriff’s officials said in a statement .

Zhang’s wife kept the children away from the three males while they were apprehended by Zhang.
A neighbor called 911, according to deputies.
The four adults were all taken into custody, while the minor was cited and released to his parents.
