A small plane carrying four people – including a prominent businesswoman and her two sons – has vanished near the Bahamas.
Jennifer Blumin (40) was travelling to Florida from Puerto Rico with her two children and partner when the aircraft disappeared from Miami Traffic Control’s radar on Monday.
Blumin is founder and CEO of Skylight Group, which provides event space around New York City, specialising in the fashion industry.
The company confirmed she and members of her family were on the plane in a statement.
„Her family is working with investigators and we politely ask that you respect their privacy at this time, “ the company said.
Her children are aged 4 and 10 and it is believed her partner, Nathan Ulrich, may have been flying the plane at the time.
It was about 24,000 feet in the air when it lost contact.
„There’s no indication of significant adverse weather at the time, “ said a coast guard spokesman.
The plane was travelling over the Bermuda Triangle when it disappeared.
Nathan Ulrich’s ex-wife tweeted about the incident, saying: „My ex-hubby’s (Nathan ulrich) plane is missing over the Bermuda Triangle. I am sad and in shock. So send prayers to his family. Thanks.“
Blumin has appeared in Forbes magazine and Skylight Group is considered Manhattan’s largest event venue management firm.
