Earlier this month, during the WWDC 2017 event, Apple unveiled many of the features of the iOS 11, macOS High Sierra 10.13, tvOS 11, and watchOS 4 operating systems for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch respectively, releasing the first Beta builds to registered developers. Apple promised that Public Beta would be available to anyone this week, and it looks like they kept their promise.
After seeding the third Beta developer builds to registered developers, Apple immediately updated its Apple Beta Software Program has just released the first iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra Public Betas, along with the first ever tvOS Public Beta, allowing anyone who dares to jump into the Public Beta testing bandwagon to install iOS 11 and macOS Sierra 10.13 operating systems on their supported devices.
With this tutorial, we’ll teach you guys how to install the iOS 11 Public Beta. First off, we have to warn you that you shouldn’t install a Beta software on your devices if you want to have a stable experience. Second of all, you should always have a backup of your device before attempting any Beta software installation. Use iTunes to connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch device to your computer and do a full backup.
Once you’ve made the backup, you need to access the https: //beta.apple.com/profile website on the device you want to install iOS 11. Sign in with the Apple ID you’re currently using on the device, then access the „Get Started“ section and access the “ enroll your iOS device “ link. Then press the „Download profile“ button and after that on the „Install“ button in the upper right corner of the screen.
This will install the Apple Beta Software profile on your device, so make sure that you read and agree to the license agreement when asked. Once the Beta profile is installed, you’ll have to reboot your device. When it powers up, open the Settings app, go to General and access the Software Updates section. You should see there the new iOS 10 Public Beta 1 update so go ahead and install it.
As with any iOS software update, make sure that your device is plugged into a charger or has at least 50% battery power. iOS 11 is a huge update, so it will take a while before it’s downloaded and installed on your device. Be aware that during the entire installation process, your device will be automatically restarted a few times. That’s it, you’re now running iOS 11 and you’ll receive future Public Beta updates over-the-air. Have fun and let us know if you like iOS 11 or not!
