NASA shares 'humanity's first up-close' view of Jupiter's humongous storm

NASA reported on June 30 that it had planned this July 10 flyover of the great storm to offer „humanity’s first up-close and personal view of the gigantic feature.“
New images of Jupiter’s Great Red Spot were acquired by NASA when its Juno Spacecraft flew over one of out solar system’s most famous images on Monday, July 10. These images were captured by „citizen-scientists“ during the flyby, which NASA says was planned.
“For hundreds of years scientists have been observing, wondering and theorizing about Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, ” Scott Bolton, Juno principal investigator, said in a NASA news release.
“Now we have the best pictures ever of this iconic storm. It will take us some time to analyze all the data from not only JunoCam, but Juno’s eight science instruments, to shed some new light on the past, present and future of the Great Red Spot.”
