What Michigan football players had to say about their 35-14 win over Rutgers on Saturday in Ann Arbor
Michigan quarterback Brandon Peters, on if he was nervous coming into the game: “Nah, I wasn’t that nervous, honestly. It’s just a great opportunity to get out there. I was more excited than nervous.”
Michigan running back Karan Higdon on Peters: “I knew Brandon was hungry. He’s been fighting each and every day since camp. We knew what we was capable of. John (O’Korn) was having a little bump in
the road. I knew Brandon was going to come in and pick it up.”
Michigan linebacker Devin Bush (11 total tackles), on the quarterback switch: “I think BP did a good job executing. But I think John O’Korn is a great quarterback as well…. Either or, John O’Korn or Brandon Peters in the game, we’re pretty comfortable.”
Bush on teasing Peters in practice: “We always just tease him, for real. I would tease him. I’d just be like, ‘Stop being shy. Speak up. I don’t hear you.’ I feel like in the fall he just kind of broke out of the shell.”
Bush, on the defense giving up a 65-yard touchdown run: “Penn State ran that play as well. (Rutgers) came out and used the same play. It’s just getting our fits right.”
