Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners have had it rough. There have been multiple issues since their release and now it looks like the camera on both units suffers from problems when used under LED lighting.
As the issues begin to mount, one has to wonder, are the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL even worth bothering with anymore? Google’s latest handsets have been pummeled week after week with problems since their release, and now something new has been discovered.
The latest problem to crop is concerns the camera and how it reacts to LED lighting. According to a few folks and also witnessing this first hand, the camera starts to flicker or to better explain, appears to manifest a strobing effect when trying to take a photo or video around LED illumination. While this is a problem in itself, the strobing is also captured in the resulting images and video. If you watch the video above, you can gain an idea of what this looks like.
This is quite a problem, considering the Google is touting its smartphones to have one of the best cameras on the market. To be clear, this problem exists with both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. It looks like the problem has been escalated in the forums, but unfortunately, this is just another hurdle for owners of Google’s latest devices.
