YI technology, a leading provider of intelligent imaging technologies, took to the stage at CES and announced the point-and-shoot YI Horizon VR180 camera in collaboration with Google’s VR team. The stereoscopic 3D camera will pave the way for simplified high-resolution videos which will leverage Google’s new VR180 format.
Coming to the specs of the YI Horizon camera, userswill be able to capture 5.7K resolution photos and videos (capped at 30fps) with the device. The camera ships with one-button live streaming functionality and gets a 2.2-inch 640 x 360 pixel retina touchscreen. For connectivity, the device ships with a USB Type-C port capable of HD speed data transmission and is compatible with both YouTube as well as Google Photos.
Speaking at the launch, Sean Da, CEO of YI Technology said “ Whether it is to demonstrate a makeup tutorial or share rich experiences from a recent trip with friends and loved ones, the YI Horizon VR180 Camera provides an easy and deeply engaging way to capture many of lifes most special moments. When the opportunity to work closely with Googles VR team on this initiative presented itself, it was a no-brainer given the teams extraordinary commitment to defining the future of VR experiences and extensive investment in the YouTube VR180 format. We believe the YI Horizon VR180 Camera will bring endless amounts of joy to all that use the device.
As of now, the company hasn’t announced the pricing of the YI VR180 camera however, interested buyers can head over to the company’s website and register themselves to stay updated.
