Amy Yu and Kevin Esterly have been missing since Monday.
A 45-year-old-man reportedly signed a 16-year-old out of school multiple times before both disappeared earlier this week. Kevin Esterly and Amy Yu were last seen on Monday, March 5, Allentown Police Department said.
Court documents obtained by the Allentown Morning Call claimed that Esterly had signed Yu out of Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on 10 occasions between November and February without parental permission.
A message to the school from Newsweek asking for comment was not immediately answered. CEO of the school, Susan Mauser, told the Morning Call that students could only be picked up by people on an emergency contact list provided by parents, but did not say whether Esterly was on Yu’s list.

Mauser told the paper that the school was checking to see whether protocols had been followed and were cooperating fully with law enforcement.
Court documents seen by the paper said that Yu’s mother first contacted police on February 9 after arriving at the school to find her daughter had been signed out by Esterly.
In another incident on February 15, police attended Yu’s home and there told Esterly and his wife, Stacey, to stay away from the house. The reason why Esterly and his wife were at Yu’s home, or why Yu’s mother called the police in the first place, has not been reported.
