The Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio has announced that it will be deploying 4G advanced Massive MIMO for its subscribers at the IPL matches in Delhi and Mumbai. As part of the deployment the stadiums in Mumbai and Delhi will be connected with pre-5G Massive MIMO units.
NEW DELHI: The Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio has announced that it will be deploying 4G advanced Massive MIMO for its subscribers at the IPL matches in Delhi and Mumbai. As part of the deployment the stadiums in Mumbai and Delhi will be connected with pre-5G Massive MIMO units.
The massive MIMO will offer more than 5 times the capacity in a 30 MHz wide band spectrum in high user density areas. The stadium will be connected with different wireless broadband solutions. The broadband solutions include Massive MIMO, 4G eNodeBs, WiFi and small cells.
Just like Reliance Jio, country’s leading telecom operator Airtel has also announced the deployment of Massive MIMO technology at stadiums in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mohali, Indore, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Chennai. Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, will be the first venue to go live with Airtel’s Massive MIMO deployment for the first match will be played.
Recently, Reliance Jio launched a special pack for the Indian telecom market. Called the Cricket Season Pack, this offer includes 102GB data for a period of 51 days (daily FUP unspecified) and costs Rs 251. This brings the average of per day data to 2GB.
In a statement, Reliance Jio said, „This is a first of its kind cricket pack launched by a network that is made for video and can enable millions of people to watch what they love, where they wish.“
