Trump faces NRA after flirting with gun-control movement| Blankenship targets McConnell’s ‘China family’ in new ad

President Donald Trump speaks to the NRA after flirting with the gun-control movement; West Virginia Senate hopeful Don Blankenship targets Mitch McConnell’s ‘China family’ in new ad; and the White House is preparing to ask for an $11 billion budget cut on Monday.
President Donald Trump will address the National Rifle Association on Friday, a speech that comes after he temporarily strayed from the group’s strong opposition to tougher gun controls, and returned to the fold.
The Associated Press writes that this year’s speech comes with the issue of gun violence taking on new urgency after the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Fla. The shooting has not led to major changes from the White House or the Republican-led Congress, but it did at least briefly prompt Trump to declare he would stand up to the gun lobby, the AP writes.
