A man riding his skateboard was struck and killed by an SUV.
A man riding his skateboard was struck and killed by an SUV early Saturday in western Iowa, Iowa State Patrol officials said.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, 19-year-old Tyler Givens-Dunn, of Omaha, Nebraska, was riding his skateboard around 2 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 29 near mile marker 33.
An SUV, driven by 37-year-old Sarah Perry, of Saxonbury, North Carolina, attempted to pass a semitruck when it hit Givens-Dunn, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
