Texas Officer Gets Dragged by Car — But It Doesn't Stop Him From Shooting the Suspect Dead

At first, the officers were able to jump out of the way but the driver tried to hit them a second time.
Police officers in Lancaster, Texas, were conducting a traffic stop when the situation turned potentially deadly.
After pulling the car over, the driver suddenly flipped it into reverse and backed up toward the police officers, according to Fox 4. The officers were initially able to jump out of the way, but the driver tried to hit them a second time.
That’s when one officer was hit and was dragged by the car.
Lancaster PD conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Dewberry Blvd on Sunday (3/18/18), resulting in an officer involved shooting. Suspect was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation.

At that point, the officer said he feared for his life. The officer pulled his service firearm and fired a series of deadly accurate shots in an attempt to get the driver to stop the vehicle. The driver was hit, lost control of the vehicle, and hit a utility pole.
The suspect was declared dead on the scene, while the officer was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The Texas Rangers are now investigating the scary incident.
