Dragon Ball Super expanded the universe, but in doing so, it left behind characters who once defined the franchise.
With gods, multiverses, and ultra-forms that are bigger than anything else we’ve seen, Dragon Ball Super took the series to new heights. In the sequel, many of the classic characters, especially those closely linked to Dragon Ball Z, were either pushed to the side or not used enough. This focus makes sense for the main story, but fans all over the world often point to familiar faces who still seem to have untapped potential and are ready for bigger roles than just cameos or background appearances.
These characters do more for the universe than just give it Saiyan power spikes and God-level changes. Some of them are martial artists who fight alongside Earth’s defenders against a big threat, while others have hidden strength or emotional depth. It’s a good time to bring them back into focus because a sequel is coming out soon. The sequel could either continue the story from where Super left off or introduce new threats and storylines. In order of how little people think of them, here are seven old characters that Dragon Ball Super should pay more attention to. 7
Tien Shinhan

Tien Shinhan used to be one of the strongest people and fighters in the Dragon Ball world. He was introduced as a rival who was very strict and good at what he did. Tien was so good at martial arts that he almost beat Goku in the World Martial Arts Tournament. He then used Tri-Beam attacks on Semi-Perfect Cell to keep the people who were fighting for Earth safe.
Tien has been in DB Super a few times, but only for short scenes or practice sessions. But both the anime and manga show that he is still important in a world full of gods and multiverse warriors because he is so good at ki, has a lot of different techniques, and is so determined. Tien fans want him to do more than just tell jokes and help out. They want him to be a real mentor and strategist who can mix old-school martial arts with new-school battles. 6
Android 18

In Cell Saga, Android 18 was one of the most dangerous foes. Dr. Gero’s experiment turned her into a cyborg with unlimited Ki and monstrous power. After the Cell Saga ended and during her time spent with the Z fighters, she changed her mind and decided to become a friend and one of the strongest Z Fighters after she married Krillin. In the Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super, she even fought against Universe 7’s defenders.
But her home life often gets in the way of her being a good warrior, and in Super, she doesn’t always get the attention she deserves.
