While there are numerous power tool brands currently on the market, few are as trusted and established as Milwaukee. The brand has stood at the forefront of the market for over a century, and it shows no sign of slowing down. In fact, at the Milwaukee Pipeline 2025 event, the company showed off several new tools worth keeping an eye on. At the same time, there’s more to Milwaukee than just tools. In addition to its ever-popular storage line, Milwaukee Packout, the brand has made waves with its clothing offerings over the years — chiefly its M12 cordless heated jacket.
Though no longer available from Milwaukee, the legacy M12 heated jacket was once marketed as a powerhouse. It offered three heat settings to match the weather and was promoted as keeping its wearer warm for extended periods. One could expect up to six hours overall of continuous heat on a single battery charge. This battery’s longevity, heat variability, and outer construction of water- and wind-resistant polyester with a thermal knit fleece inner lining were designed to keep wintertime laborers as toasty as possible in the bitter cold.

As mentioned, the M12 cordless heated jacket has been discontinued by Milwaukee. Fortunately, for those not keen on perusing the aftermarket for one, Milwaukee still has a strong selection of heated coats available. Not only do they heat the same areas as the M12 cordless piece, the core and pockets, but they also heat other areas while offering longer battery life. For example, the M12 heated Toughshell jacket heats the chest, back, and pockets for up to 12 hours on low, six hours on medium, and three hours on high. Better yet, it’s packed with more insulation, keeping that heat in while you’re on the job.
Just as impressive are the men’s and women’s M12 heated axis jackets. They can also resume heating for up to 12 hours on low, six hours on medium, and three hours on high, with heat zones available for the chest, back, and shoulders. Even the men’s and women’s M12 heated hoodies will keep you warmer longer. Both have a maximum runtime of eight hours on low, four hours on medium, and two hours on high. However, it should be noted that both hoodies only have two heat zones, on the back and chest, so they’re not exactly the perfect alternative for a heated jacket beyond battery runtime.
As great as the stats behind Milwaukee’s discontinued M12 heated jacket may be, it’s far from the peak of the brand’s heated coat offerings. Others have come along to deliver superior heating for longer periods, making fine additions to the lineup of cool Milwaukee gadgets many might not know exist.

Former Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman and economist Shabbar Zaidi has warned that cryptocurrencies could rival hawala in usage, even though cryptocurrency regulation in Pakistan remains extremely difficult due to strict foreign exchange controls by the State Bank.
Speaking at a session on Adopting Digital Currency and Cryptocurrency in Pakistan: Possibilities and Concerns organized by the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs (PIIA) on Saturday, Zaidi highlighted the challenges in regulating digital assets.
He said that while a law enabling cryptocurrency regulation in Pakistan has been passed and is under parliamentary discussion, enforcing it would be problematic. By design, digital currencies leave no trail, making regulation nearly impossible.
“Cryptocurrencies flourish because they leave no trail. A currency born unregulated cannot be regulated,” Zaidi stated. He explained that the U.S. market has witnessed widespread adoption of digital currencies, but the key difference is its liberal foreign exchange system.
In Pakistan, however, commercial banks cannot buy or sell U.S. dollars without prior approval from the State Bank, which makes integration of cryptocurrencies far more challenging. Despite this, Zaidi noted that their use as an alternative to hawala could increase.

I wasn’t in love with the Phone 3’s Glyph Matrix, but Glyphify adds tools and toys I’ll actually use for more than a gimmick.
When Nothing first switched from its original Glyph Interface to the new Glyph Matrix on the Phone 3, I have to say I was underwhelmed. Sure, the LED-filled circle looks cool and promises a new way to interact with your phone, but I couldn’t shake the fact that it felt more like a gimmick than the light-up strips. It packed more toys than tools, and I couldn’t make myself use it enough.
But now, I’ve found an app that changes things. It’s called Glyphify, and it adds a few new tricks to my Nothing Phone 3 and even more flexibility to Nothing’s older launches. Let’s check it out.Glyph Dial is so simple and oh, so smart
Having come out of my time with the Nothing Phone 3 so completely underwhelmed by the Glyph Matrix, I’ve been willing to try new things. I’ve kept a close eye on Nothing’s community page and added a few community-created Glyph Toys to my cycle — even replacing some of the first-party options I started with.
But then, when I downloaded Glyphify, which only costs a little more than $2, I realized that my light-up matrix had been missing something: Speed dial. For users of the Nothing Phone 3, the main draw of this clever little app has to be the Glyph Dial, which makes it incredibly easy to spin through a rolodex of your ten closest friends and family.
Or, at least, it’s made up a good 90% of my usage of Glyphify since I downloaded the app. To me, the Glyph Dial is just enough without being too much. I loaded a couple of my closest friends, those I speak to just about daily, and I’ve set it up towards the top of my Glyph Toys cycle.
Then, all I have to do is press the rear button to light up my Glyph Matrix and tap a few more times to find the right contact. A quick shake or a raise to my ear, and my call is on its way. I’d almost say it feels like the widget and gesture combination I’d expect from a flip phone, which automatically means I’m in love. And, to those friends who didn’t crack my ten-person rotation, sorry, not too sorry.
Of course, there’s a proper Glyph Toy baked into Glyphify, too. It’s called the Ball Maze, and it’s tickled my puzzle-loving brain in a way that the Magic 8 Ball, Spin the Bottle, and Rock, Paper, Scissors haven’t. Is it difficult? Nah, just a little way to pass the time, but it makes you tilt, lean, and spin your phone to guide the ball to its home. It’s very silly, yet much more fun than the chance-based games Nothing started with.Now I’m just jealous of the Glyphify Studio
But as good as Glyphify is on the Nothing Phone 3, I’m jealous of the experience it offers on the Phone 2 and Phone 3a — or any phone with the original Glyph Interface. Instead of supporting a scroll-through speed dial, it gives Nothing’s older launches the ability to turn any audio clip into a light show, making it much easier to create custom ringtones with matching lights.
If you want even more control over your LED experience, that’s where the Glyphify Studio comes in. It lets you compose your own ringtones with matching lights, which you can then save and assign as needed. I’m nowhere near being a talented composer, but it’s still a cool idea that I’d kind of like to see make its way to Nothing’s most recent launch, even if it would take a bit more work to scroll a pattern across the circular Glyph Matrix.
If the developers behind Glyphify were to bring Studio support to the Phone 3, though, I certainly wouldn’t complain. I know some of these upgrades could only go one way (sorry, Phone 2 and Phone 3a users), but I’d like to see Nothing’s most capable launch get the most capable software support, too.
