NewsHubPresident Trump called for the U. S. to “GET SMART” in a Twitter post Friday morning after an attack at the Louvre Museum in Paris that authorities there suspect is terrorist-related.
A man wielding a blade attacked soldiers, and was shot by a soldier guarding the iconic French museum. Reports from the scene say the man shouted “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is greatest,” as he attacked.
Mr. Trump , in a tweet just before 8 a.m. in Washington, weighed in, saying it was another wake-up call.
Mr. Trump wrote: “A new radical Islamic terrorist has just attacked in Louvre Museum in Paris. Tourists were locked down. France on edge again. GET SMART U. S.”
The president has been under fire for a new executive order he signed a week ago imposing extra scrutiny on travelers from seven majority-Muslim countries. Many of those who had visas to come to the U. S. have been denied boarding on airplanes.
