CANBERRA, Australia—Australia has thrown its support behind the World Trade Organization, as the Trump administration seeks to diminish the WTO’s influence as part of a U. S. policy overhaul aimed at challenging trade rivals Japan and China.
“Australia is very supportive of the rules-based order that the WTO presides over,” Australian Trade Minister Steven Ciobo said in an interview Thursday.
