President Donald Trump praised his party’s newly unveiled plan for replacing Obamacare Tuesday.
He called the GOP-backed bill « wonderful » in a morning post on Twitter that also slammed Obamacare as « a complete and total disaster. »
Our wonderful new Healthcare Bill is now out for review and negotiation. ObamaCare is a complete and total disaster – is imploding fast!
Later, he returned to Twitter with more commentary on the subject, responding to a discussion on Fox News Channel’s « Fox & Friends » with radio host Laura Ingraham, who lamented that the bill did not contained language to create more competition by allowing competition across state lines.
« I don’t see any transparency and control of the skyrocketing prices of healthcare, » Ingraham said. « I certainly don’t see the competition across state lines. The drug companies, nowhere, no provisions about that as far as I can see. Trump went across the country, supported by both Democrats and Republicans, and a lot of what he was saying there, none of that, as far as I’m reading today, none of that is in the bill so far. »
Don’t worry, getting rid of state lines, which will promote competition, will be in phase 2 & 3 of healthcare rollout. @foxandfriends
He later chimed in on drug prices:
I am working on a new system where there will be competition in the Drug Industry. Pricing for the American people will come way down!
