The dollar edges lower early Wednesday, but trades in a tight range, as investors prefer the Japanese yen, considered a haven currency, after North Korea tested another ballistic missile just as President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart prepared to meet on regional stability.

North Korea launched a medium-range ballistic missile off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula on Wednesday morning , as Trump is set to host a two-day meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.
The launch of the missile, confirmed by U. S. Pacific Command in Hawaii and by South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff on Wednesday morning, took place from Sinpo, a city on the east coast where North Korea has a shipyard and last year claimed the launch of a submarine-launched ballistic missile.
