The six-part Jimmy McGovern drama, which also stars Anna Friel, has been pulled from TV schedules in the wake of last night’s terrorist attack.
A statement from the BBC read: ‘Following last night’s tragic events in Manchester, BBC1’s new drama series Broken will not start tonight as planned but has been rescheduled for next Tuesday 30 May’.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Sean for comment.
Broken joins a number of programmes to be drawn from schedules, including Andrew Neil’s interview with UKIP leader Paul Nuttall. The decision to reschedule comes after it was agreed to suspend general election coverage for 24 hours.
Broken tells the tale of Father Michael Kerrigan, a Catholic Priest in Northern England, who is struggling with balancing being a counsellor and confessor while also living out his own woes.
